Prof. Frank Pieke and Dr. Ka-Kin Cheuk took part in a Max Planck Workshop on Mobility in China

On 29-30 September 2016, Prof. Frank Pieke and Dr. Ka-Kin Cheuk (Leiden University) were invited to take part in Mobility in Contemporary China: Imaginaries, Technologies and Power, a workshop co-organized by Prof Li Zhang (UC Davis) and Dr. Meixuan Chan at the Max Planck Institute of Social Anthropology, Halle. Prof. Pieke was discussant in two panels: Imaginaries of Mobility and Geopolitics and Mobility. Dr. Cheuk gave a paper entitled G20, Global Fabric Trade, and a Local Chinese Market, presenting his recent ethnographic findings on the impacts of G20 on foreign traders in China.
